Agona West MCE denies allegations of corruption.

Agona Swedru, March 28, GNA - Mr Jacob Felix Obeng-Forson, Agona West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has denied corruption and incompetent leadership allegations leveled against him by some National Democratic Congress youth of the Agona West Constituency.

He said the allegations being made by the youth of the area were unfounded and baseless and calculated to call on the President Mills to remove him from office.

Mr Obeng-Forson said this on Saturday when he addressed the closing session of a three-day capacity building workshop organised by the Sub-Committee on Production and Gainful Employment (SPGE) for 30 selected small business enterprises at Agona Swedru.

Topics treated include introduction to financial management, records keeping, market research, customer care relations, costing and pricing, improved production techniques, quality assurance, savings investment, market linkages and credit management.

The MCE urged the people especially NDC supporters in the Agona West to ignore fabricated stories being speculated by the youth. He said the International Labour Organization(ILO) has released 20,000 dollars out of the 40,000 dollars its promised for the capacity building of small business enterprises in the Agona West Municipality to improve their businesses.

The MCE said the Assembly was ready to collaborate with ILO to offer technical advice and marketing skills to the private sector to propel growth and employment creation.

He said the SPGE had set up business office at Swedru Town Hall to collate data and business advice to the Assembly and small business enterprises to enhance efficiency. Mr Seth Boadi, Deputy Agona West Municipal Coordinating Director, urged participants to let the skills acquired at the workshop transform their businesses. 28 March 10
