Exhibition and trade Show opens at Asamankese

Asamankese Dec. 03 GNA-This year's annual Clients' Exhibition and Trade Show opens at Asamankese on Friday.

The week-long show is an initiative of the Rural Enterprises Project (REP), in collaboration with the West Akyem Municipal Assembly, the government, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the African Development Bank.

Mr. Roland Agodzo, project manager of the REP, Asamankese, told the GNA that the essence of the show was to create a platform for clients of the project, trained individuals and small and medium enterprises to showcase their wares.

It would also help them to network, get contacts and expand and grow their businesses. Eighty-eight municipal and districts nation-wide will be participating in the exhibition and trade show. Mr. Agodzo hoped clients would benefit tremendously through the exposure and trade on offer. The project manager said the rural enterprises project would give start-up kits to 30 apprentices who had completed training courses from different trade areas such as hairdressing, dressmaking, masonry and carpentry.

Interested individuals can use the period of the show to learn bee-keeping, batik, tye and dye, rearing of Guinea Fowls' Guinea Pigs, mushroom cultivation and other skills to improve one's income.
