Koforidua Regional Hospital commended

Koforidua, Nov. 3, GNA - The Koforidua Regional Hospital has been commended for its efficient Health Insurance Claims Administration system that captures almost all the essential data on the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Mr Vincent Ocran of the Centre for Management Research and Professional Development of the University of Ghana Business School said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Koforidua. Mr Ocran is the leader of a team from the Centre which is conducting commodity security survey in public health institutions throughout the country on behalf of the Ministry of Health (MOH). He said their survey showed that the hospital has a well coordinated information management system that could even be adopted for national practice.

Mr Ocran mentioned in particular the system being used by the Pharmacy Department of the hospital that time could capture all the spent medications and the stock available. He said the plan to link the system to the wards and consulting rooms would help management of the system to quickly know stocks available and the spent stocks and could help medical officers of the hospital in their prescriptions. 03 Nov. 09
