Nana Rawlings - Next First Vice-Chairperson of NDC?

Intelligence available to Daily Post indicates that barring any unforeseen circumstances, Ghanaâ€'s former exciting First Lady, Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman- Rawlings, will become the next First Vice-Chairperson of the ruling NDC.

Though the former First Lady has not formally announced her intention to vie for the position, our intelligence has established that she is not only vying for the position but has made a lot of in-roads into the delegates who would be attending the congress and voting to determine who the new National executives of the party would be.

Daily Post intelligence sources reveal that so far, she has about seventy percent of the delegates under her shade and is still working hard to get more of the delegates to her side.

Mrs.. Rawlings is an influential figure in the NDC. During the reign of her husband, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings as President of Ghana, the 31st December Women’s Movement which she heads contributed immensely to the victory of the NDC at the polls.

Cast in the mould of Hilary Clinton, the current US Secretary of State, Mrs. Rawlings is known to be vivacious, dynamic and enterprising. Many rate her as the most hardworking and dynamic First Lady Ghana has ever had since independence.

It has been whispered in several quarters that she has presidential ambitions. If that is so, then her desire to be First Vice-Chairperson of the NDC may just be the first step in a journey of a thousand miles.

There are people within and without the NDC who do not like her style and would cringe at the thought of her becoming a vice-chairperson in the NDC. However, she is undoubtedly an experienced politician and an astute stateswoman whose contributions to the NDC so far cannot be underestimated.

Stay tuned for more
