Two bodies washed ashore

Wusuta (VR), Oct. 21, GNA - Two bodies believed to be among the 18 people feared drowned in the Volta Lake have been recovered. Search parties deployed on the segment of the boat disaster and adjoining areas are still combing the vicinity for clues. Police Superintendent Festus Guh (ed.correct), Kpando District Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency at Wusuta-Kpebe that bodies of a man and a girl had been washed ashore.

He appealed to communities along the lake where the disaster occurred last Monday to be on the alert for more floating bodies. Meanwhile, all the rescued victims were treated and discharged at Wusuta and Anfoega.

Scores of people from one family and other sympathisers returning home after attending a funeral at Wusuta-Kpebe over the week-end encountered a bad stormy weather which caused an improvised on which they were travelling to capsize.
