Bishop Osei Kofi denies Heritage report

Accra, Oct. 9, GNA-The Right Reverend Bishop Elisha Osei Kofi, General Overseer of the Power Embassy International Church, has denied a report carried by an Accra daily, that he had been involved in fake healing miracles.

Addressing a news conference in Accra on Thursday, Bishop Osei Kofi refuted the story of the 'Heritage ' published on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, headed "Shocking! Prophets in Azaa healing".

He said no miracles were performed in the church on Sundays and that it was not true that he had hired agents to feign sick and healed them after prayer sessions.

The General Overseer said no deaf and dumb were brought to him for healing between October 2 and October 5, during a revival session organized by the Church.

He also denied the newspaper report that he drives an ash colour Cross-Country Infinity car.

Bishop Osei Kofi however stated that two old women and another woman with a swollen foot were brought to the revival for healing. The paper had reported that the General Overseer had no healing powers and that he hired fit persons to feign sick but who jumped up after he had prayed for them to signify that he had healed them. Bishop Osei Kofi advised newspaper reporters to cross-check their news to come out with factual stories and not to concoct news items only to tarnish the image of people who had toiled to achieve their good name.
