School appeals for completion of Girls' dorm

Atwere ( Ash), Oct 7, GNA - The Headmaster of Mansoman Senior High School, Mr Daniel Opoku, has appealed to the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to ensure the completion of a two-storey girls' dormitory that has been under construction since the year 2002.

He said lack of accommodation has become a big headache not only for the school's authorities but students from outside the district placed in the school by the Computerized School Selection and Placement System. He made the appeal when the Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Mr Joseph Kwabena Onyinah, accompanied by Mr Charles Oti-Prempeh, the Amansie West District Chief Executive paid a working visit. The Headmaster also drew attention to inadequate classrooms and said everything should be done to address the situation. Mr. Onyinah said given the importance of Education in national development, it is important that all the stakeholders accept to play their part well to promote smooth academic work in school. Mr Oti-Prempeh gave the assurance that, the district assembly has made Education one of its major priorities and would, therefore, do all it could to support the school. 07 Oct. 09
