The Lord's Pentecostal Church International gives

to inmates of Ho Leprosarium

Ho, Sept. 8, GNA - Some leaders and members of The Lord's Pentecostal Church International at the weekend presented relief items worth 2,000 Ghana Cedis to inmates of the Ho Leprosarium. The items include bags of rice, loaves of bread, used clothing and cartons of soap.

The presentation, which was part of activities during the Church's Annual Convention in Ho, was to boost the morale of the inmates by making them feel loved and cared for.

Pastor John Rolands Menka, leading the group said the Church realized that the inmates needed spiritual, physical and psychological assistance, hence the visit. He expressed the hope that their visit would make an impact and win some souls for God. He urged the inmates not to see themselves as outcasts but get to the realization that they were part of society.

Pastor Menka advised them to worship and remain committed to God and to thrive to achieve the purpose for which God created them. In a related development, Christ Rural Evangelistic Ministries Incorporated, a Christian NGO, also presented items worth 1,000 Ghana Cedis to inmates of the Leprosarium. The items include bags of rice, mosquito coils, cartons of soaps and clothing.

Mrs Rose Antwi, Coordinator of the Organization, said the presentation was to provide assistance and hope to inmates of the Leprosarium. Mr Anthony Adzavon, Regional Technical Officer of the Leprosarium who received the items on behalf of the inmates, expressed gratitude to the benefactors for having thought of the wellbeing of inmates of the Leprosarium. He said socio-economic conditions of the inmates including cured lepers were not good, and called for interventions from public-spirited individuals and groups.
