Classic FM Donates To Orphanages

As part of activities marking Classic fm’s 10th anniversary celebration, the management has presented items worth several thousands of Ghana cedis to three orphanages within their catchments area.

The items which include soaps, second hand cloth, food stuffs, cash and other assorted drinks were donated to Frank may orphanage in Techiman, St. Theresa PCC in Nkoranza and Bethista children’s Home at Krobo in the Techiman Municipality.

Given the background of the station, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. fred Zeini indicated that classic fm has spent several millions of cedis to sponsor hundreds of brilliant but needy students in the region.

According to Mr Zeini, the media house has also established an endowment fund (onibie fund) which has being allocated to pay for health bills for the needy. He stressed that classic fm last year registered hundreds of people under health insurance scheme.

Mr Zeini observed that, apart from given right information, entertaining the public media has the responsibility in helping government’s quest of alleviating poverty from the region.

The ten year anniversary under the theme: ten years of excellent Broadcasting and media pluralism.

Presenting the items, the deputy managing director of classic fm Mrs Naomi Zeini assured the orphanages of classic FM’s unflinching support. She therefore asked the facilitators to do their best to the unlucky childrens. Mrs Zeini urged the children to take their education very serious adding that education is the component of development.

She appealed to government to formulate and implement policies that will benefit the orphanages across the country.

The items were received by Frank Apus for frank may orphanages, Gilbert Ayarik for Bethista children’s Home and that of Nkoranza St. Theresa handicapped community was received by a medical Doctor Mrs. Inneke Bossman.

Mrs. Bossman who is known as the brain behind the popular National Health Insurance Scheme in the country accepted the donation and expresses her sincere gratitude to classic fm for being the first radio station to make such donation to them.

Mrs Bossman therefore appeal to other benevolent society to emulate classic fm to support the call of the needy children in the society adding that the items has come at opportune time and will go long way to solve some of their problem.
