Husband butchers wife for denying him sex

Breman Asikuma (C/R), June 8, GNA - The Breman Asikuma Magistrate Court, at the weekend, remanded in prison custody a 22-year-old man, Kofi Nkoom alias "Allah Allah", for inflicting cutlass wounds on his wife, for allegedly refusing him sex.

Nkoom who pleaded not guilty would re-appear on June 19. Prosecuting, Police Inspector Daniel Tawiah, told the court presided over by Mr Kwesi Boakye Enimil that on May 22, the accused who is domiciled in Accra, arrived at Breman Asikuma at noon, to find the wife sleeping with their nine-month-old baby girl.

He said Nkoom attempted to have sexual intercourse with his wife, Amina, but she refused. The accused therefore took a cutlass and butchered Amina.

Sensing danger Nkoom took to his heels, but was given a chase by people who have been attracted to the scene and was escorted to the Brakwa Police Station.

Amina was rushed to the local Health Centre, where she was given first aid and referred to the Breman Asikuma Catholic Hospital, where she is responding to treatment.
