Ghana to benefit from OFID Loan

Accra, May 23, GNA. -Ghana is among five nations to receive a total of 58.10 million dollars loan from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries Fund for International Development (OFID) to undertake projects in their priority areas.

A Press Release from the OFID said Ghana's share of 7.50 million dollars would be used by The Cancer Diseases Hospitals while India would get 30.00 million dollars for its Orissa Integrated Irrigated Agriculture and Water.

Lao Peoples Democratic Republic in South East Asia would get 11 million dollars for her Northern Greater Mekong Sub-Region Transport Network Improvement.

Nicaragua's share is 4.60 million dollars for its Acoyapa-Costa Rican Border Road Integration while Azerbaijan would get 5.00 million dollars for a "Line of Credit to Access Bank Closed Joint-Stock Company".

To date, according to the release, OFID has provided more than 10.3 billion dollars in much needed development financing to 121 developing countries world-wide.
