National Chief Imam donates books to IPS

Accra, May 22, GNA - Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu Education Trust Fund (SONSETFUND) on Friday donated text-books worth 10,000 pounds to the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS).

The donation is to provide opportunities to students who do not have access to good but expensive books to study. The text-books are in the disciplines of accounting, management, taxation and finance for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

The donation was facilitated by benefactors from Moslem communities in London, London School of Management and Accountancy and Moslem students in London. Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu, National Chief Imam, who presented the text books to the school advised them to take care of the books and put them to good use.

Mr Stephen Teye-Akrobor, Pro-Rector of IPS, expressed gratitude on behalf of the school to the Chief Imam for the donation. Yunus Adams Attah, Acting General Secretary of SONSETFUND, said this delivery was not limited to IPS but would be replicated in other institutions. SONSETFUND is an institution which helps in raising educational standards and provides free consultancies to students, entrepreneurs, activists and unemployed youth in the cuntry. 22 May 09
