Kpandai Assembly confirms President's nominee

Kpandai, (N/R), May 8, GNA - Mr. Jasper Jatoe Moayi 50, was on Thursday overwhelmingly endorsed by the Kpandai District Assembly as the new District Chief Executive for the area. All the 24 assembly members present voted for Mr. Moayi, an educationist. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Moayi promised to run an open-door administration and foster unity among the various ethnic groups in the district. He pledged to make education and the improvement of the road network in the district his priorities. Mr Maoyi said the district had great potential in agriculture and trade and appealed for investments in the sector. He also invited the banks to open branches in the area to help accelerate its economic development. Mr. Stephen Sumani Nayina, Northern Regional Minister, urged the new DCE to be a unifier and ensure peaceful co-existence among the diverse ethnic groups in the district.
