Manya Krobo Assembly confirms President's nominee

Odumase, May 5, GNA- The President's nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for Manya Krobo, was endorsed at an emergency assembly meeting on Tuesday. Mr Isaac Agbo Tetteh, a 32- year- old chemistry tutor at the Adisadel College, in Cape Coast, polled 29 votes out of the 41 votes cast while, one ballot was rejected.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, before the election, read the curriculum vitae of the nominee to the assembly and explained that he was not a stranger as being alleged. He reiterated that the selection of the nominee had been scrutinized by competent persons and all their concerns had been taken into consideration, therefore, members of the assembly should endorse him to push the development of the district. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo bemoaned the slow pace of development in the district that had rendered many of the residents poor and attributed this to lack of cooperation from the people.

Mr Tetteh, in his victory speech, thanked members of the assembly for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work in humility with all of them without recourse to their political backgrounds. He said despite the objections raised against his nomination by a section of the assembly members, he begrudged no one and appealed to all stakeholders to join hands with him in working hard to better the lot of the many deprived people in the area.
