Christians observe Palm Sunday

Kumasi, April 5, GNA - Christians all over the world are observing "Palm Sunday" that commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem riding on a donkey before his crucifixion. The event, which is celebrated with church services, is a joyful moment for Christians who mood wave palm fronds with shouts of "Hosanna", meaning "our king is coming".

In Kumasi, a number of churches marked the occasion with church services. At the Saint Anthony Catholic Church at Ejisu the Parish Priest, Reverend Monsignor Thomas Manu, advised Christians to always accept their mistakes.

He condemned the current craze for money and wealth among Ghanaians and said this had resulted in hypocrisy among the people. Monsignor Manu called for tolerance to ensure peace and harmony in the country.

At the Grace Baptist church at Amakom, Reverend George Owusu-Mensah appealed to Ghanaians to try to make the country a better place as Christ did for mankind.

He told them to remember where they were and where they are today so as to put smiles on the faces of others as the Messiah did. Reverend Owusu-Mensah appealed Ghanaians to use the occasion to love one another and work to promote world peace.
