IPS to introduce Master of Science Programme in Global Leadership

Accra, March 26, GNA- The Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) in collaboration with the School of Leadership and Professional Advancement, Duquesne University, United States, is to introduce a Master of Science Programme in Global Leadership next year. The 18-month online programme would be launched in September and would be run by both institutions with its headquarters in Duquesne University, Professor Joshua Alabi, Rector of IPS, announced at a symposium on Thursday in Accra. The conference was the first of a planned annual programme dubbed: Global Leadership in the Age of Obaama and what it means for Ghana and Africa".

It sought to discuss and suggest interventions global leaders could adopt to survive in the global competitiveness to enhance economic development.

Professor Alabi said the programme had been designed to help develop globally conscious individuals to understand the power of investing capital through the development of relationship building, networking and team dynamics. Mr Ben Ephson, Editor of Daily Dispatch newspaper, said leaders could only achieve their goals through good governance, effective crisis management and equality. Touching on recent oil discoveries, he emphasized the need for leaders to ensure transparency, accountability in terms of management to help elevate the status of the less privileged. He said government could only do this by investing some of the resources into other sectors. "Let us be careful. Oil is not the only tool that will help improve the welfare of Ghanaians but certain negative attitudes should change and the grassroots people should be brought on board," he said.
