SSNIT pensioners asked to renew life certificate every six months

Enyan Denkyira (C/R) March 5, GNA - Pensioners under the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), who are over 70 years, have been advised to go to their Zonal offices to obtain a "life Certificate" to ensure the continuous payment of their monthly entitlements.

Mr J. B. Morrison, chairman of the Enyan Denkyira Zonal SSNIT Pensioners Association, who gave the advice at a meeting, said failure to do so would result in the suspension of their pensions. Mr Morrison also reminded members to promptly renew their Mutual Health Insurance Premium, at the cost of A24.00 to enable them to have access to free medical care.

The Central Regional Treasurer of the Association, Mr. James Loverall Tawiah, advised members to take good care of their health in order to live longer. He urged them to avoid hard work, alcoholic drinks, smoking and sex, explaining that these activities weakened the body. Mr. Tawiah appealed to members to be role models in their respective communities, share their rich experiences and instil discipline in the youth.
