Dr Nduom fetes 1,200 school children in Elmina

Elmina, Dec.27, GNA - Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, the presidential candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP), on Saturday called on the rich in society to endeavour to assist the poor, especially needy but brilliant pupils so they could live meaningfully in society. He said times were difficult and it was necessary for those who had to assist those who did not have during festive occasions like Christmas, so that the poor in society would feel cared for and loved. Dr Nduom said this at a Christmas party held at Coconut Grove Hotel in Elmina for more than 1,200 pupils drawn from schools in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality. The children who were treated to highlife music and Christmas carols were presented with gifts, packed lunched and soft drinks all valued at more than GH¢ 1,200.00.

They also took part in games such as sack race and chair dance. Dr Nduom said for the past 10 years he had been organizing parties for school children in his constituency to serve as an incentive for the pupils to study hard as the invitation to the party was based on ones academic performance.

He said everyone was capable of becoming successful in life if given the needed support and urged the children to take their studies seriously to enable them to reach greater heights. Dr Nduom urged parents to devote more of their time to their children and endeavour to give them the needed care, love and support to enable them to grow into responsible citizens. He said he was building a community library each for Komenda, Elmina, Agona and Abreshia all in KEEA, adding that the Komenda library was completed and would soon be commissioned.

He said the remaining three would be completed next year June. On the December 7 election run-off, Dr Nduom said he appreciated the support and assistance people gave him before, during and after the elections and stressed that he had not given up hope and would contest in future elections. He said it was necessary for Ghanaians to critically study the political environment and know why they were voting for any particular party. He urged Ghanaians to endeavour to exercise their franchise on December 28.
