Voting - Winneba

At Winneba Voting started peacefully, orderly but slowly at most of the polling stations in Winneba Township of the Effutu constituency. There were long queues at most of the polling stations in the municipality with most of the voters been in the queue as early as 0300 hours.

At the Social Welfare polling station with registration Number BO70602, in the Dombra-Ototiase electoral area in the Effutu constituency, the Polling Assistant, Mr. John Mensah told the Ghana News Agency that all material and officials are ready to start voting at 0700 hours.

At the Taxi Rank polling station, Mr. Ekow Dennis, polling Assistant in-charge told the Ghana News Agency that only 9 out of 708 registered voters have cast their vote as at 0740 hours. Mr.Robert Boadi, Presiding Officer at the University of Education, Winneba polling said 6 people have cast their vote at about 720 hours when the GNA reached the station. At the Fire Service Polling Station with registration Number BO71603, 47 out of the total registered voters of 755 have cast their votes.

Most of the voter interviewed by the Ghana News Agency said they wanted to vote early to enable them go about their personal activities at home.

All the three parties, NPP, NDC and CPP contesting for the parliamentary seat have their agents at the polling centre visited.
