List of winners of GJA awards

Accra, Oct. 26, GNA - The following are winners of various awards at the 13th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards Night held at the Banquet Hall in Accra on Saturday.

William Asiedu (Daily Graphic) - won two awards for his story on "Filth engulfs Parliament".

The rest are: Innocent Appiah (The Ghanaian Times), Samuel Dowuona (Ghana News Agency) and Lauretta Vanderpuije (GTV)- News Reporting; John Vigah (The Ghanaian Times)- Sports Reporting; Nii Laryea Korle (The Mirror)-Arts/Entertainment/Domestic Tourism; Edward Nyarko (GTV)- Business/Finance/Economic Reporting; Clare Banoeng Yakubu (Ghana Broadcasting Corporation)-Health Reporting; Adisa Nuhubila Quansah of the Daily Graphic and Merari Alomele (The Spectator) - Best Features writer.

Honorary awards went to Akoto Ampaw, a Lawyer; Gertrude Opare Addo; Christian Aggrey; Mike Atsutse; Razak El-Alawa, all veteral journalists and a posthumous one for the late Harry Mouzalas, Chief Editor of the Ghana News Agency.

Mrs Oboshie Sai Coffie, and Dan Kwaku Botwe, both former Ministers of Information and National Orientation, and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation were honoured for various roles they played in strengthening the media.
