NPP, NDC have nothing new to offer Ghanaians

Jacobu (Ash), Oct. 8, GNA - Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) flagbearer, on Wednesday reiterated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) have nothing new to offer Ghanaians and therefore must be rejected in the December election.

He described the manifestoes of the two parties, (NPP and NDC) as camouflage to cover up their inability to fulfil campaign promises during their tenures.

Dr Nduom was speaking at a rally at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District on Tuesday, during which he introduced the party's parliamentary candidate for Odotobri, Mr Blessing Owusu as part of his tour of the Ashanti Region. He said the NPP and NDC had failed the nation through bad economic policies and programmes, which he said had worsened the socio-economic plight of Ghanaians.

Dr Nduom said as a result of this, almost all state enterprises and factories, which were established during the era of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, had been sold or collapsed thus creating a high rate of unemployment.

He, therefore, urged Ghanaians to vote massively for the CPP to enable it restructure the economy for the revival of all defunct state enterprises and factories to benefit the nation. The CPP flagbearer said the CPP was now more matured and ready to lead the nation to the promise land, saying when the party was given the mandate, it would work hard to improve the conditions of Ghanaian workers by motivating them to increase productivity. Dr Nduom added that the CPP would also ensure that every child get access to free education.

He urged party supporters to go about their campaign activities devoid of provocative statements, defamation of character, conflicts and violence to enhance the party's image and chances of coming back to power.

"The CPP does not believe in violent politics as the solution to addressing issues, but a disciplined party, which believed in the rule of law and democracy as the main tools to ensure the nation's forward march," he said.

Mr S.K. Danso, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the CPP, expressed the hope that the party activists and supporters would put their differences behind them and commit resources towards the party's advancement. Dr Nduom later addressed similar rallies at Obuasi, Ejisu-Juaben and Offinso. 8 Oct. 08
