Workshop for Ghana Scout under-way

Accra Sept. 19, GNA - A four-day strategic capacity building workshop for some 12 selected members of the Ghana Scout Association (GSA) is underway in Accra.

The GSA in collaboration with the Danish Scout Group organized the program which has the theme; "How to market Ghana Scout Association at the world level".

It would also enable participants to prepare a five-year comprehensive strategic plan that would facilitate growth and development of the association by 2013.

Mr Isaac Newton Addy, Chief Commissioner of the Ghana Scout Association, in his welcoming address, commended the Danish Scout Group for contributing towards the progress of GSA over the years.

He expressed the hope that the existing cordial relationship between the two groups would be strengthened for their common good. He urged participants to take the workshop very seriously and come out with pragmatic ideas and plans that would promote the Association. Mr Steen Petersen, Denmark Scout International Commissioner and Mr Morten Nielson, Denmark Scout Committee Member are the facilitators. They led the participants through topics including Unity and resolving conflicts in the Association, Good leadership and youth training, Membership drive, Programmes and activities, Finance, Registration and Gender issues.
