Bangladesh for boosting bilateral trade with Ghana

DHAKA, June 11 -- Bangladesh President Prof. Dr Iajuddin Ahmed Wednesday underscored the need for frequent exchange of business and official delegations and holding trade fairs to boost bilateral trade and economic relations between Bangladesh and Ghana.

He made the suggestion when newly appointed non-residential Ambassador of Ghana to Bangladesh John Bentum-Williams presented his credentials to him here, private news agency UNB reported.

Welcoming the new envoy, Dr Ahmed said Bangladesh attaches great importance to her relations with Ghana as the two countries hold almost similar views on different international issues and have been working together at various international fora, including the UN bodies.

He also saw huge potential of developing bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and expressed the hope that the relations between the two countries would grow further in the days to come.

The new Ambassador of Ghana expressed his satisfaction over the present relations between Dhaka and Accra and hoped that the ties would be strengthened further.
