Dr Asem Foforo Terrorises Kufuor Again

“Were You A Nation Wrecker In 2000?”

Dr Asem Foforo, the man who has over the last few years become the nemesis of President Kufuor and his annual People’s Assemby, was at his best again yesterday.

He defied every intimidation and threat on the part of NPP goons and hoodlums and put up another vintage performance at the People’s Assembly held yesterday in the western regional capital. When it was the turn of Dr Asem Foforo, he pointed at a man in the hall who had earlier threatened that he would brutalize him if he dared ask any embarrassing question. Asem Foforo reminded the gathering that he was similarly badly assaulted at the same event the previous year in Sunyani. He therefore entreated to be given free rein to make his submission.

Dr Asem Foforo who drew a loud applause as soon as he introduced himself, then took the president to task over a comment he made at an NPP rally at Asamankese last year. According to him, the president categorically declared that the NPP will not allow any nation wreckers to take the mandate of the country in the year 2008 elections. Asem Foforo asked why the president described the opposition parties competing to win power from the NPP as nation wreckers.

Then followed Dr Asem Foforo’s sucker punch-

“When in the year 2000, you were bidding to become president of Ghana, were you also a nation wrecker? “Hoooo Mr president! You have not done well at all,” Dr Asem Foforo declared courageously.

President Kufuor’s “Public Assembly Terrorist” also reminded the president about the orderly manner the former government handed over power to the NPP in the year 2000 and wondered whether president Kufuor intended to replicate that historic gesture of the NDC leadership.
