Prudential Bank opens new branch at Adum

Kumasi, Jan.16, GNA- The Prudential Bank Ghana Limited (PBL) on Tuesday opened a new branch at Adum-Kejetia, the business and commercial hub of the Kumasi city in the bid to bring its services close to the business communities.

Tuesday's event brought the total number of branches of the bank to eleven during the past the eleven years of its existence and the Adum branch is also the bank's second in the Kumasi Metropolis. Speaking at the brief ceremony to out-door the bank, Mr.J.S.Addo,Chairman of PBL said the bank has since its inception established its presence firmly in the Ghanaian banking industry, inspired by the slogan "To us, whether big or small, it is still business''.

He said through its unique savings and other products dubbed: ''Prudential Savings Account and the Prudential Welfare Saving Account, the best savings scheme on the market," the Bank mobilizes savings from individuals, micro and small-scale enterprises with very attractive interest rates.

Mr. Addo, who is also a member of the Council of State, explained that savers operating under Prudential Business Savings Account can access credits

up to 125 percent of the deposit balance in their account. "Unlike Similar Schemes operated by other banks, where the depositor is given less than 100 percent of the total amount on deposit, in the case of PBL's scheme, the depositor is given 25 percent over and above the amount of his deposit'" he added. The Bank's Chairman who catalogued the numerous awards swept by the bank in recognition of its widely acclaimed banking services, urged small and medium scale enterprises to subscribe to the Bank's Business Saving Account to expand their business. 16 Jan. 08
