Obed Asamoah believes NDC is desperate

The Founder of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Dr. Yao Obed Asamoah, has emphatically stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is desperate to recapture political power.

According to him, the NDC has become desperate in opposition to the extent that its flagbearer, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills has been going round preaching that if elections were rigged, the mayhem on Kenya would be revisited on Ghanaians.

Obed made these comments at the inauguration of DFP in Agona East and West at Agona Swedru over the weekend.

Dr Asamoah expressed concern about the situation where the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) was not prepared to tolerate the return of NDC while, at the same time, the NDC was also not ready to tolerate NPP, predicting that possible violence may erupt if the two parties clashed.

He therefore advised Ghanaians to reject both parties so that they continue to enjoy Peace and stability.

The DFP founder disputed the allegation that DFP came to destroy NDC, and stressed that it was set up to change the face of Ghanaian politics with the view to promoting the use of issues in campaigning.

He commended NPP government for achieving macro economic stability but criticised it for failing to provide jobs in the country.

"Opposition parties should not turn themselves into professionals of criticism but give credit to whoever deserves it and criticise when necessary," he stated.

Dr. Asamoah revealed that the NDC, on realising that its third electoral defeat would collapse the party, had gingered some of its members to go round threatening to visit mayhem on the country if they lost.

The Deputy General Secretary in charge of operations, Mr. Bede Ziedeng, disclosed that DFP has become a force to reckon with in Ghanaian politics.

He said DFP had moved beyond supporting a specific political party to win elections, and was now working hard to win the elections.

The Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance and Administration, John Amekah, said DFP was formed to rescue Ghanaians from economic hardship, and therefore called on Ghanaians to vote for DFP in the coming general elections.
