Curfew hours in Anlo reviewed

Accra, Nov 27, GNA-Government on Tuesday announced that the curfew imposed on the Anlo following the chieftaincy clashes in that Area would now be between 2100 hours to 0400 hours.
Mr. Kobina Tahir Hammond, Deputy Minister of the Interior, said the military presence in the Area would however be maintained and the ban on the possession of arms and ammunition would still be in force. Mr Hammond announced the review in a statement, on behalf of the Sector Minister, Mr Kwamena Bartels, on the situation in the Area since he (Mr Bartels) last briefed Parliament on November 20, 2007. Mr Hammond said despite the calm in the Area, Government was of the view that conditions were not yet appropriate for the curfew to be lifted.
