Addo-Kufuor to create liaison office at the presidency

Nsuta-Buem (V/R), Nov. 07, GNA - Dr Kwame Addo-Kufuor, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, has said he would create a party liaison office at the presidency should he become president. He said the liaison officer would brief him every week on the grievances of the party's activists.

Dr Addo-Kufuor said he would also institute district forums throughout the country for party executives, chiefs and religious leaders to provide a shortlist of five candidates to be appointed as district chief executives.

He said this at a meeting with the party's executives, polling station chairmen and opinion leaders from the 22 constituencies in the Volta Region at Nsuta-Buem in the Jasikan District as part of his five-day campaign tour of the Volta Region. Dr Addo-Kufuor said the relationship between the government and party since 2001 had been below the expectation of activists for which "we all must share the blame and make amends."

He reminded potential delegates to the party's December congress that to choose him as the party's presidential candidate would demonstrate their commitment to contributing their quota towards building upon the achievements of the party and government in the past eight years. 07 Nov 07
