Takoradi, Sept. 29, GNA -Miss Mawuena Dumor, Corporate Services Executive of Mobile Telecommunications network (MTN) said the upgrading of their facilities was likely to affect the service quality in the region.

She said MTN would continue to expand, renew and create more cell sites for its operations nationwide to improve services. Ms. Dumor said these after a day's familiarisation tour of MTN's three cell sites in the Western region.

Areas visited included Effiakuma, Beach Road and Apemanim in the Ahanta West District. She said the Apemanim cell site, which was constructed three years ago serves the Nzema, Nsuaem and Tarkwa townships. Ms. Dumor said the company had increased its Base Transmitter Station (BTS) in the region to enable it to cover a wider area. She said MTN, this year, invested 150 million United States Dollars into its operations in the country, and had so far spent 200 million United States Dollars in its expansion programmes, adding that the maintenance of equipment and cell sites was a regular feature of the company. 29 Sept. 07
