Starlets Promise Victory
Changwon (SK), Aug. 31, GNA - Players of the National U-17 team, the Black Starlets have assured Ghanaians of another victory on Saturday to complete the send-off of the South American teams at the ongoing FIFA U-17 world championship in South Korea.

Captain of the side, Ransford Osei told GNA Sports in Changwon, venue for their match against Peru that they were determined to bring the cup home and would therefore not allow Peru to eliminate them. "At this stage we are very mindful of the task ahead of us and we would not underrate any team in the tournament," he said.

Captain Osei said, "Our greatest challenge was Brazil but with even 10 men we were able to defeat them" and that since they would now be meeting Peru with a full squad they would not miss their chances. Osei who is also in the goal race contention said that it was God who could assist them to complete the "assignment" and appealed to Ghanaians to rally behind the team with their prayers to carry the National Flag higher in Korea.

Striker Sadick Adams said the name Peru does not put any fear in them and that he would do everything possible to register the first goal to upset their opponents. On his scoring chances, the striker said, "When I sit back and watch the video, I wonder how I fail to connect home some of balls. I am praying to God to give me the patience and the scoring ability." Isaac Donkor, another striker who scored the "Golden" goal against Brazil last Wednesday said "I am sure to score another goal if we are able to create the same chances as we did against Brazil and other teams."
He attributed his near misses at goal to the slippery nature of the pitch in their last match with the rains ruining their efforts. Some of the other players who spoke to the GNA Sports promised victory but appealed to Ghanaians to pray unceasingly for God to help them win all their matches.
