Enyiresi Hospital appeals for assistance

Enyiresi (E/R), June 27, GNA- A Hospital administrator has appealed to the Ministry of Health to as a matter of urgency post more nurses to the Enyiresi Hospital in the Atiwa District of the Eastern Region, to ensure effective health care delivery.
The Hospital, which recorded about 3,000 cases of patients each month, had only 8 nurses for both the out patients and in-patients departments.
Mr. Francis Lunguniah, the Hospital Administrator, made the appeal when Reverend Dr Ofori Darko, a Ghanaian medical officer based in Canada, presented 15 hospital mattresses and 5 boxes of disinfectants all valued at 25 million cedis to the hospital at the weekend. The Administrator also appealed to the Government to provide the hospital with X-ray and other medical equipment to facilitate health care delivery, Mr. Lunguniah said more people attended the hospital putting pressure on the few facilities due to patronage of the National Health Insurance Scheme.
He also said because of the strategic location of the hospital, it was the first point of call for the numerous accident cases on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
Mr Kyei Mensah, the Assemblyman for Anyinam, who solicited support from his friends abroad for the hospital, commended Dr. Ofori Darko who also donated items to the Anyinam Hospital, for his contributions to the improvement of health care delivery in the area. Dr Ofori Darko said the presentation formed part of his contribution to the development of the area.
