Staff of Hohoe branch of BOG join strike action

Hohoe, April 24, GNA - Personnel of Hohoe branch of Bank of Ghana (BOG) have joined their colleagues in the national strike action in protest of delayed in salary negotiations and other issues relating to better conditions of service.

The staffs in red arm bands, some tied around their wrists and necks were relaxing when Ghana News Agency visited the premises at 1030 hours. Business has virtually come to a stand still.

A member of staff, who pleaded for anonymity after several workers declined to speak; said "we are embarking on this strike action in solidarity with our colleagues in Accra in demand of 40 per cent salary increment".

She said "the situation would remain like this until we hear something positive from head office."
