Journalists mourn with former GJA President

Accra, April 19, GNA - The National Executive of Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) on Thursday called on Mrs Gifty Affenyi-Dadzie, a member of the Council of State to express their condolences on the death of her mother.

The delegation led by Mr Ransford Tetteh, President of the Association included Mrs Yaa Oforiwah Asare-Peasah, Treasurer, Mr Bright Blewu, General Secretary and Mr Dave Agbenu, Organising Secretary. Mr Tetteh said members of the association shared the pain because Mrs Affenyi-Dadzie served the association diligently for many years and most journalists adored her.

"She is generally referred to as our mother considering the good services she provided not only to the association but individual members," Mr Tetteh added and assured the bereaved family of the association's participation in the funeral. On hand to receive the delegation were members of the Abroadze family of Sekondi, including Mr C.C. Hagan, Mr C.K. Abedu, Mrs Mary Adu-Buahen and Mr Kofi Addison who received the delegation on behalf Mrs Affenyi-Dadzie.

The late Mrs Charity Ekem Affenyi, 84 died on March 15 and would be buried on Saturday May 5 at Sekondi.
