GSE All-Share index makes another weak gain

Accra, April 17, GNA - The GSE All-Share index, the benchmark measure, made another weak gain in quiet trading on Tuesday, buoyed by a significant gain by Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC). Traded shares also moved up to 159,100 from 8,900 shares. The index closed 0.42 points better at 5,134.71 points from 5,134.29 points on Monday.

Change for year was slightly better at 2.57 per cent. On the broader market, there were eight price changes, seven up and one down.

EIC led the way with 500 cedis gain at 9,406, CAL Bank gained five cedis at 2,460 cedis, Ecobank Ghana was three cedis better at 14,135 cedis, Fan Milk gained two cedis at 19,106 cedis, Standard Chartered Bank appreciated by four cedis at 180,005 cedis while SG-SSB and Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited gained one cedi each at 6,332 cedis and 9,262. The only loser was Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP), which was 50 cedis poorer at 5,450 cedis.

Market capitalization closed at 113,277.78 billion cedis from 113,265.05 billion cedis.
