Fievie Chiefs Call On Ga Traditional Council

A delegation of chiefs from the Fievie Traditional Council in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region led by Togbe Ahli II, the Awadada and acting paramount chief of Fievie, Tobge Ahadzi Dodo V, the Anyigbe clan of the Agave state, on Monday paid a courtesy call on the Ga Traditional Council at the Ga Manste Palace in Accra.

The delegation which also included regent Abordor of Anyigbe clan and stool father, Togbe Woyome, the installer of Togbe Ahadzi Dodo, Mama Gblorgbor of Agorta Agave, Mama Adenga of Agave, Togbe Adze II among others were in Accra to pay their respect to the Chief and people of the Ga Traditional Council on the death, burial and funeral rights of the late Ga Manste Nii Amugi.

The visit was to formally introduce themselves to the Ga Traditional Council as descendants of Togbe Akalo, father of the Anas.

Mr. Charles Amenyo, the spokesman for the delegation said they were in Accra to foster, renew and promote a bond of friendship dating back decades ago between them. Historically, the Ga’s were the guest of the Fievie state whenever they traveled to Anecho to pay homage to their Kith and Kins. It was believed that the Fievie were the people who ferried them across the river Volta and vice versa whenever they traveled to Togo.

Due to the construction of the lower Volta Bridge, the bond of friendship and relationship came to and end. Young people coming after their forebears forgot about this phenomenon and it became history. But today, this historical happening has been played back.

Nii Adote Obour II, Sempe Manste and acting Ga Manste who welcome to delegation on behalf of the Ga Traditional Council which had Nii Kojo Ababio V, James Town Manste Nii Nortey Owuo, Osu Manste Nii Kpobi Tetty Tsuru, La manste among others, responding, recounted what their elders once told them and therefore welcomed them as their brothers and back home with a promise to reciprocate the visit some day.

The delegation later paid a separate call on the Nai We who is the chide priest for the Ga state, also at SakumoWE-O FITE Osaa at Jams British Accra. They had earlier on Saturday’s called on the Osu Klotey Wuluomo, Narku Agbeti II and Nuumo Gbelenfo (the Chief Priest od Osu State).
