Delta Air Lines Appointments For Ghana Operations

ACCRA: 26th January 2006 -- Delta Air Lines, which operates four weekly nonstop services between Accra and New York's JFK airport has appointed Scott Webb as commercial manager for Ghana and Victoria Hanson-Nortey as station manager, responsible for Delta's operations at Kotoka International Airport.

Victoria Hanson-Nortey commenced her career in aviation with Ghana Airways in 2000, holding several management roles within the organization. Before joining Delta Air Lines, Victoria was employed as marketing and operations manager with North American Airlines at Kotoka International Airport. Speaking about Hanson-Nortey's appointment, Angela Coleman, Delta Air Lines' regional director Airport Customer Service said, "Victoria brings to Delta a wealth of knowledge of the aviation market and operations in Africa. With her enthusiasm and leadership skills, she will be a real asset to our team." Victoria leads a team of two supervisors: Sarah Djabatey and Richard Kyereh, all based at Kotoka International Airport.

Scott Webb moves to Accra from Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta where he was manager – Self Service Strategy, and will be based in the offices of Delta's dedicated General Sales Agent, Aviation Alliance, at Silver Star Tower, Airport City. Prior to joining Delta, he held various sales, technical and client services positions while launching two Internet companies. Webb also spent two years living and working in Medellin, Colombia and a year in Daejeon, South Korea. Commenting on Webb's appointment, Frank Jahangir, vice-president Sales and Affairs Delta EMEA said, "With his wide commercial experience and business acumen, combined with his enthusiasm for Ghana and the African continent, I am confident that Scott will be a successful leader for our sales force in one of Delta's newest international destinations."
