NPP National Delegates Conference formally ends

Koforidua, Jan. 7, GNA- The New Patriotic Party(NPP) has decided to provide a strong support for the poor, weak and the marginalized in the society and to provide them with the necessary environment to stand on their feet. This was contained in a resolution adopted by the party at the end of the national delegates' conference of the party which ended at Koforidua on Sunday.

The party decided to offer fair reward for labour and to work towards ensuring unity in the party in all their activities. The members of the party decided to work hard to ensure that the party maintain its current position in the political environment of the country and would not do anything to break the unity of the party. The resolution observed that, discipline was the bedrock of every successful enterprise and therefore the party members shall commit themselves to the constitution of the party and use it as the basis for the resolution of all problems.

The party decided to strengthen its structures for the resolution of internal differences and also strengthen the relationship between party and government officials.

The resolution called for serious attention to be given to polling station officials and called for encouragement of training of the youth and other organs of the party.

The resolution suggested the construction of a 5,000 capacity conference hall with hostel facility for the hosting of future conference and congresses of the party, to help solve some of the difficulties faced by the members during such functions.

Earlier, in a sermon at a thanksgiving service organized by the party as part of the activities to mark the conference, the Koforidua District Pastor of the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Kwabena Asare Ayeh said what man need most was not money or material gains but peace. He said it was for that reason that God allowed Jesus Christ, who was the Prince of Peace to be born on earth but was rejected by men. Rev. Ayeh urged the members of NPP to invite Jesus into their meetings and offices for peace to always prevail there.

He urged the Presidential aspirants of the party to accept Jesus into their lives so that the devil would not be able to influence them to destroy their fellow members.

Rev. Ayeh urged the Presidential aspirants who even thought they are the best candidates to accept the decision of the delegates when they loose because it would be God that had spoken through the delegates.
