Don't create political tension-Etroo

Tarkwa, Jan 2, GNA - Mr Samuel Gordon Etroo, the Western Regional Chairman of Convention People's Party (CPP), has called on Ghanaians not to create political tension but to live peacefully together as brothers and sisters. "Ghanaians should reflect on whether unity and togetherness have been achieved after 50 years of independence. We should reflect whether the country has been polarized along economic, political and religious lines," he said in a New Year message.

Mr Etroo said unity and brotherliness was achieved just before independence through the instrumentality of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah but it withered in the course of time. He attributed this to entrenched positions take by big political parties like United Party and CPP. Mr Etroo appealed to parties to adopt a common platform to address problems geared towards improving the living conditions of the broad masses.
