CEPS serves final notice to owners of un-customed vehicles

Accra, Dec. 28, GNA - The Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) on Thursday notified owners of uncustomed vehicles to settle their indebtedness to CEPS by Saturday, December 30, or forfeit them to the State. "Failure to comply will result in these vehicles being impounded and confiscated to the State", a statement Ms Annie Anipa, Assistant Commissioner, Public Relations, signed on Thursday said. Government early this year granted a period of amnesty to tax defaulters, with owners of un-customed vehicles being granted relief to pay deposits on their vehicles while making arrangements to regularize their transactions relating to these vehicles.

The statement also reminded the vehicle owners and the general public that its offices throughout the country, as well as its headquarters in Accra, would remain open for normal business on Saturday, December 30 despite the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha, the Muslim Festival of Sacrifice.
