Minister stresses need for peaceful co-existence

Accra Dec. 28, GNA - Major Courage Quashigah (rtd), Minister of Health, has called on Ghanaians to continue to work towards maintaining the peace the country was enjoying for total development. Maj. Quashigah, who was speaking at the end of a three-day National Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission at Ashongman in Accra, said the hallmark of every development was peace and discipline and asked citizens to avoid indiscipline in every aspect of human development. These were contained in a statement signed by Mr Ahmad Twumasi Public Relation Officer of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana. The Convention was on the theme: "Promotion of World Peace - The Role of Religion."

Speaking on: "Permissiveness, The Greatest Challenges to Modern Society", Dr Muhammed Alfa, Head of the Inspectorate Division of the Food and Drugs Board, said the will of many otherwise upright members of the society was constantly being put to test in the face of irresistible ways of modernism. The Ameer and Missionary In-Charge of the Ahamdiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, Maulvi Wahab Adam said a new site has been acquired for the Mission. He said Khilafat Ahmadiyya Worldwide would be celebrating its hundred years' anniversary, which falls next year in Ghana and called on Ghanaians to contribute generously toward the centenary celebration.
