World leaders urged to seek the guidance of Jesus Christ

Ho, Dec.25, GNA- Reverend James Noble Tulasi, Head Pastor of Jubilee Christian Centre at Ho, on Monday called on world leaders to seek the guidance of Jesus Christ in governance to ensure world peace and stability.

He said absolute peace could only be found in Jesus Christ, who alone is the ruler and light of the world. Reverend Tulasi was delivering a Christmas message to the church on Christmas day in Ho.

He said Jesus Christ is the only one capable of helping world leaders to govern in a way that would bring socio-economic development, devoid of "try and error".

Reverend Tulasi cautioned world leaders against over- reliance on scientific knowledge and stockpiling of ammunitions, which would only encourage wars and conflicts.

He predicted that the New Year would be one of perfection, and requiring faithfulness from leaders and Christians so that the world would fully enjoy the immense benefits that the year would yield.

At the Resurrection Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the Reverend Victor Abbey, the Head Pastor, urged Christians to live at peace with all since the message of Christmas was all about peace to the world and goodwill to men.

He said the life of a Christian was not measured by what one professed to be, but rather about how one lived his or her life for others to respect and emulate him or her.

=93We need to live at peace with all, especially with our brothers and sisters. We need to live at peace with our neighbours. We need to live at peace with all in our communities and the country at large. =93We should not be at peace with only people from our ethnic group. We should not be at peace with only people in the same political party and neither should we be at peace only with people with whom we share the same faith,=94 Rev Abbey said, adding, 93let us not talk Christmas, but rather live Christmas=94.

He told the congregation that the inn keeper, who turned Mary and Joseph away at the time of Christ' birth would have acted otherwise if he knew who they were.

=93In the same way a lot of people including Christians keep turning away from the Lord when ever he knocked on their doors, due to selfish motives of acquiring the world at the expense of their souls,=94 Pastor Abbey said, adding that if Christians were careful, they would hear Christ's voice with their hearts instead of their ears. Rev Abbey urged Christians to set example for the unbelievers by keeping the environment clean.

=93You should all desist from littering the environment, because a healthy environment promotes good health and we should remain healthy because our bodies belong to God, who created us in his image,=94 he said.

=93Let us treat out bodies with respect by using it in ways that are pleasing to the Lord Jesus,=94 Rev Abbey said.

He urged Christian to ensure that they partook in all the activities marking Ghana's Golden Jubilee saying the Greening Ghana initiative was a very laudable one which should be embraced by all. The congregation was treated to the festival of nine lessons and carols, with bible readings from nine different local languages as a sign of unity in the church.
