GSE index rises but volumes low

Accra, Dec. 18, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) closed slightly higher on Monday, but volumes of shares traded were low. The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark measure, gained 0.22 points to end the session at 5,005.73 points from 5,005.51 points. Traded volumes ended at 28,200 and change for the year to date stands at 4.96 per cent.

On the broader market, there were three price changes, all positive.

CAL Bank gained five cedis at 2,205 cedis; ECOBANK Ghana went up by three cedis at 13,511 cedis and TOTAL Petroleum was also three cedis better at 54,020 cedis.

Market capitalisation ended at 112,285.49 billion cedis.
