Experts have analysed a million claims and found that accidents are more likely to happen on Monday 27 than any other.

Among the mishaps previously recorded are a man who put his foot through his ceiling when fetching Christmas decorations from the loft.

And a cat set his owner's house on fire by knocking over a candle, the Daily Mail says.

Then there is the litany of car crashes, shunts in car parks and damage to vehicles caused by falling branches.

AA Insurance says post-weekend tiredness is among the reasons for the date with danger.

Spokesman Ian Crowder said the firm processed 5% more claims on Monday, February 27 and Monday, March 27 this year than a normal day.
