Catholic Church Hold Congress

Gomoa Odina (C/R), June 20, - Nana Gyasi Kumah, chief of Gomoa Odina in the Central region, has called on priests to prove by words and deeds that they have been sent by Christ to win souls for him. Nana Gyesi Kumah expressed regret that the actions of many priests do not reflect what they preach, adding that this is not good enough since actions speak louder than words. He was addressing the celebration of the eucharistic congress by Catholics in Apam parish of the church at Gomoa Odina. The congress was aimed at exposing the kingship of Jesus Christ in the holy Eucharist. The theme for the congress ''one bread, one body and one lord of all'' was to create awareness among Christians on the need to seek unity in broken homes and families. It was to seek peace among conflicting ethnic groups so that people will bury their political differences to foster national unity and reconciliation. In a sermon, the Rev Fr. Anthony Kofi Davies deplored the claim of supremacy by some churches and said it is not the church one belongs to which can save him but his faith in Christ. The eucharistic congress being celebrated in the parishes and dioceses are preludes to the national one to be held in Tamale in January next year.
