WAEC releases business certificate exam results

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA - The West African Examinations Council on Friday announced that it has released provisional results of the May/June 2006 General/Advanced Business Certificate Examinations (G/ABCE).

A statement signed by Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Senior Public Relations Affairs Officer, said a total of 4,294 candidates sat for the GBCE while 1,131 candidates sat for the ABCE.

It said five candidates were involved in examination irregularities during the conduct of the two examinations. Three candidates had their subject results cancelled while two had their entire results cancelled and have been barred for two years for impersonation.

The General and Advanced Business Certificate Examinations, formerly RSA States II and II, are available to both private and candidates in approved private institutions on either single subject or group entry basis.

The General Business Certificate Examination is equivalent to the WASSCE while the Advanced Business Certificate Examination can lead to the award of a Diploma.

Holders of the GBCE can further their studies to the Advanced Business Certificate level. Holders of the Diploma at the ABCE have job prospects in the industrial, commercial, banking, finance and other sectors of the economy.
