Placement of JSS candidates ends

Accra, Sept. 29, GNA - The Ghana Education Service (GES) on Thursday announced that the Second Phase of Registration of Qualified but Unplaced Candidates under the 932006 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) Phase II has ended.

A statement Mr Joseph Odom, Head of Public Relations of GES, signed, said a second batch of placement lists would be sent to Junior and Senior Secondary Schools and Technical Institutes Heads by Monday October 9 2006.

It said parents were to take note that the qualified but unplaced candidates were unplaced because of the way their choice of schools and programmes were made.

"Parents are, therefore, advised to accept and consolidate their wards placement since schools not listed for phase two placement have already been filled based on vacancies declared by the head of the second cycle institutions", the statement said.

It urged successful candidates to present ESS/TI form duly completed and singed by their JSS Heads and District Directors of Education to Heads of Senior Secondary Schools or Technical Institutes, where they have been placed.

"ESS/TI forms for re-entry candidates are to be endorsed by the Regional CSSPS Coordinators and the ESS/TI forms of foreign students would be signed by the Director, Secondary Education Division or her representative.

All heads were requested to submit the names and index numbers of non-reported candidates to the CSSPS Secretariat through regional CSSPS Coordinators.
