Accra stock index slumps

Accra, Sept. 28, GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) slumped in trading on Thursday on a significant loss by SG-SSB. The GSE All-Share Index, the main benchmark, went down by 13.15 points at 4,948.27 from Wednesday's close of 4,961.42 points. Change for the year slipped to 3.76 per cent from 4.03 per cent. Traded shares were better at 281,400 from 37,100 shares. On the broader market there were three price changes, two up and one down.

SG-SSB lost 540 cedis at 6,200 cedis, Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC) was four cedis better 8,430 cedis and ECOBANK Ghana gained one cedi at 12,121 cedis.

Market capitalisation stood at 111,425.97 billion cedis, down from 111,502.65 cedis.
