Accra stock index inches up

Accra, Sept. 27, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) continued to have quiet trading sessions with low volumes. Only 37,100 shares changed hands on Wednesday from Tuesday's 46,400 shares.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main benchmark, rose by 0.18 points at 4,961.42 points from 4,961.24 points.

Change for the year remained at 4.03 per cent.

On the broader market there were three price changes, all positive. Aryton Drugs was four cedis better at 895 cedis; Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited gained one cedi at 9,252 cedis and TOTAL rose by one cedi at 54,006 cedis.

Market capitalisation stood at 111,502.65 cedis from 111,501.63 billion cedis.
