EC releases provisional District Level election results

Accra, Sept. 27, GNA - The Greater Accra Regional Office of the Electoral Commission (EC) on Wednesday announced provisional results of the District Level elections.

In an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) Mr Muhammed Adoquaye, EC Regional Director, said certified results would be declared within 72 hours after Tuesday's polls.

He noted that provisional results were declared at the various electoral collating centres in the presence of either the candidates or their accredited agents.

Mr Adoquaye said: 'Our district electoral officers are working around the clock, checking the provisional results and other electoral administrative procedures for final certification.'

Some of the results were: Alajo Electoral Area: Mr Abdel Aziz polled 1,261 votes to beat Mr Ibrahim Labaran 1,255 votes and Mr Habiba Osumanu, 621 votes.

In the Kokomlemle Electoral Area, Mr Archibold A. Cobbina polled 1,357 votes to beat Mr Issah Baba Samore, 1,043 votes; and Mr Jiagge William Offei 721 votes.

At Odawa Official Town, Mr Edmund Quartey won the polls with 1,169 votes as against 800 votes by Mr Hendrick Kimmah; 701 votes by Mr Raw Turkey Amuzu; 641 by Ms Florance Frempong and 377 votes by Mr E. M. N. Ankrah.

At the Asylum Down Electoral Area; Mr Francis Ebo Mensah stood elected with 545 votes as against Mr Samuel K. Kwaku, 441 votes; Ms Salome Yeboah, 192 votes; Nana Kofi Akomor, 111 votes and Ms Eleanor Gifty Gambrah, 88 votes.

Mr Mohammed Norgah polled 957 votes to win the North Adabraka Tudu Electoral Area seat against other four contestants.

Mr James Adotey Addoquaye won the Kinkawe Electoral Area seat with 1,528 votes against three other candidates.

Mr Seth Raymond N. Tettey polled 2,241 votes to beat other four candidates in the Ngleshie Electoral Area while Mr Ishmeal Nii Dodoo Dodoo won the Kinka Electoral Area seat with 2,071 against other seven contestants.
