Subject yourselves to good behavior - Minister tells Dagombas

Tamale, Aug 31, GNA - Alhaji Mustapha Ali Idris, the Northern Regional Minister, has appealed to Dagombas to subject themselves to good behaviour to attract investors to help the development of the region.

He urged them to bury their differences and to unite so that the human and natural resource potentials could be tapped to enhance their economic growth.

"Let us be concerned about the unwholesome water we drink and the inadequate health and school infrastructure in the area and stop engaging in conflict", he said during an interaction with the media in Tamale on Wednesday.

Alhaji Idriss said the action and inaction of the people were driving away potential investors and this was not doing the region any good.

The Regional Minister announced that he planned to meet the various youth groups in Tamale and Yendi to read the "Roadmap to Peace" document to them to understand what it entails and to sensitize them to behave appropriately.

He said it had come to his notice that the youth had not been made aware of the provisions of the document and therefore were being misled by some mischievous people to foment trouble. Alhaji Idris said most of the youth in the area were jobless and that his administration was doing everything possible to secure them jobs in some of the interventions that the government had instituted for the youth.

On the recent disturbances in Yendi, the Regional Minister said the security personnel were on the trail to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book to serve as a deterrent to others.
